Summer Bucket List
Kids Edition

Little A and Papa enjoying the backyard!

As many of my family and friends know I am a list person. I have lists for my lists. Yup, It's bad. So, of course, when I heard the idea about making a Summer/Seasonal bucket list I thought it was right up my alley.

I hear all the time people requesting ideas for summer activities; especially budget friendly ones.
Today I am going to share with you the Bucket list I made for our time with our grandson. Little A is already getting so big and I want him to always have fond memories with his Baba and Papa.
The activities and projects I have included on our list are young child/toddler friendly. But even if you have older child, a bucket list is a way to insure you stay active. We don't want to be Netflix binging and laying on the couch all day kinda person while the summer passes us by. (Not that I speak from experience or anything).😉

Like I said, Summertime is an amazing opportunity to make memories.  Here is how I made Little A's bucket list and tips on how to make yours for your family.

Tip #1  RESEARCH!

Google is great for this. I typed in 'Summer Activities for Toddlers'. A lot of links showed up and I researched what I thought would appeal the most to Little A. The possibilities are endless. Also, research activities in your local community too.

Tip #2   Don't write down too much.

It is summer so it's supposed to be a more laid back, fun time. The purpose of the list is to insure that we have a good time and make memories. If we over schedule, we won't enjoy our very short summertime with our family.

Tip #3   Variety is key.

Make sure that what is on your list is a variety of different stuff. On our list I have activities at home as well as going places. The most important thing is to make sure you list activities that will appeal to your family.

Tip #4   HAVE FUN!

Making sweet memories with your family is the best reward of all in completing your list. Little A already has completed some of the things and he has had a blast.

Below is how I put the Bucket list together and the finished product...

  • Get supplies together. I am not a very artistic person so I can't draw. I purchased a pack of stickers from the Dollar Tree store in place of drawing. When "A" is older he can decorate it however he wants. Hopefully, he has his paternal Grandma's artistic abilities.

  • Plan out your list. On a sheet of paper I brainstormed and then wrote down ideas for the bucket list. When I started the poster/list I penciled in, with a ruler, a line down the middle and made as many sections as I needed. I then planned where I wanted the stickers to go. I didn't remove the backing of the stickers until I was ready.
  • I then stuck on the stickers, finished decorating, and wrote in the summer activities.
'A' loves to 'write' by holding my hand when I write.
I love how it turned out even though I messed up the word 'homemade'; the fact that it's not perfect that makes it so cool to me. I plan on taking pictures of the activities we do and then making an album with the bucket list as a keep-sake.

I hope you will give the Bucket List a try. Look for pictures on my social media as we complete our family Bucket list.

Next Monday I will share my personal bucket list for summer. This is for anyone in a rut that needs to bust out and start enjoying life again.

Life is worth the effort. Make some memories today!!
