Summer Bucket List 2017
Making memories to last a lifetime!

Lazy summer afternoon.

The Kids Edition Bucket List was such a hit. The feedback from you guys has been amazing. So I thought I would do another post about a Summer Bucket List for grown-ups.  This time though I don't want it to be just a poster. What I thought would take it to the next level is to make a bucket list/journal/memories book all-in-one.

Here's what you'll need....

  • A notebook (One with a motivational saying is even better)
  • Pen
  • Ruler (Unless you can draw a straight line I however don't have that particular gift 😊)
  • Anything you want to make your notebook your own i.e. Gel pens, markers, stickers, etc.

Make a List

You can make this as simple or as artistic as you want. The most important thing is that YOU make your list and strive to achieve it.

Now what should you put on your list? Anything you'd like to accomplish or memories you'd like to make this summer 2017. The last day of summer officially, is Friday, September 22nd. You can set the date to whenever you'd like. I am going until September 30th, because it still stays pretty warm here and I don't really feel autumn starts until October 1st.

So with your end date in mind, start a list of what you would like to accomplish or do in the last bit of summer. Remember, it's never too late to live life to the fullest.

I am inserting my bucket list here.

I numbered some of my activities because its more than once
i.e. the 5 random acts of kindness

As you can see my list has a variety of different activities; some as a wife, mom, Baba, friend, or just by myself. Also, most are budget friendly which is always a plus.

Journal

This doesn't include my picture yet.
But I wanted to give you an idea of what I meant

Journal what happened when you've completed an activity or task while the memory is still fresh in your mind.  It doesn't have to be long - just the highlights of it. Going back and reading your highlights can really bring such joy.  It's so important to have gratitude and joy. It's what makes life sweeter.

Pictures

Be in the moment. But don't forget to capture a moment or two of your activity with a picture. I'm not saying to do a ton of group selfies but one picture that captures the memory of the moment is beyond priceless.

After you have all your pictures taken of all the activities; pick your best one and send it online to be printed out or print them out at home. I use Walgreens online or my new favorite: Shutterfly. I have even made coffee mugs of my favorite pictures from Shutterfly.

Take your favorite picture of each activity after it is printed out and glue (or tape) it to the page that has that activity's journal entry.

By the end of summer you have an amazing keepsake of memories. You can pull that notebook out anytime you need to lift your spirits or just reminisce about the fun summer you had.

I'm excited about the finished product. Having something to share with my kids and grandchild is such a treasure.  I hope this inspires you to make a bucket list for Summer 2017.

Please let me know how you are doing on your list and if you post a picture on social media  I would love for you to use the hashtag: #reallifewithlar so I can be sure to see it.

I'll be posting a dinner recipe later this week, so be watching out for that.

Have a great week!
