Night "Beauty" Bag

One of the best tips I have ever heard was from a Youtube beauty guru named 'Glamlifeguru' whose real name is Tati.
She did a series called Tip Tuesday and it was awesome. She gave weekly tips and tricks that helped her be more consistent with taking care of herself and her skin.
My favorite tip, and one I still use to this day is a Night bag. This is a bag that you keep in or on your nightstand; products that tend to be forgotten in a nighttime skincare routine. Whether watching tv or settling in for the night, this bag keeps all the products together and keeps the nightstand free of clutter. The bag I use is one I found at TJ Max for under $5. The print was awesome and I fell in love with it.

Here is what I put in my bag...

Lip Balm

This is such a great product to use at night so your lips stay soft and your lipstick stays better the next day. I use all sorts of lip treatments or balms depending on the time of year and how dry my lips seem to feel. Right now I am using Rose Bud Salve ($6 Sephora).

Hair Brush and hair ties/scrunchies
Sorry about my hair in my brush. ;)

I like to make sure to have tangle free hair before bed. Also, if it’s a hot night I will pile my hair on top of my head using a scrunchie because it causes less hair breakage.

Eyecream

Now that I’m older the skin around my eyes can start to show fine lines.  The best way to combat that is with a hydrating eye cream. I am loving the Bobbie Brown Hydrating eye cream ($52 Sephora or Department stores). It’s a very luxurious, silky cream that is prefect for night time because it has all night to soak in and really hydrate the eye area. It is a bit pricey but a little goes a long way so a jar lasts about 10-11 months.

Cuticle Oil

This is something that most women forget about but if you take the time to condition your cuticles your hands will look better and you decrease the chances of hangnails and jagged cuticles. I love cuticle oil although I do switch it out with a cuticle balm. Currently, I am using CND Solar Cuticle Oil ($5.79 Amazon) or Burts Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream ($6 Amazon not pictured)

Makeup remover wipes

Everyone has days that going through the whole beauty routine is not possible because you are dog tired!! But going to sleep with your makeup on increases the chance of breakouts and clogged pores as well as dulling and prematurely aging your skin. So if you truly have no desire to get up and cleanse your skin the best alternative is Cleansing wipes. I have found two brands I LOVE and they are both very budget friendly. Burt Bees Sensitive Skin ($6 Walgreens or any drug store) and Simple Cleanse ($4 Walmart, not pictured)

Hand-cream

I have dry skin year round but it's especially bad in the winter. I keep hand lotion in my bag for an extra application before bed. It helps nourish my skin and relives the dryness. Aveda hand relief was a gift from my daughter and I really like it. It soaks in the skin and doesn't leave them slick or greasy feeling. I also love CND Almond Hydrating hand lotion ($6 amazon) it's a great budget friendly option.

Footcream (pictured above with the hand cream) and a pair of socks

I don’t know about you but my feet are so dry and sometimes even lotioning them up doesn’t work. So when my feet need some extra ‘love” and attention I slather them up with a good coating of foot cream and then put on a pair of socks to lock in the moisture. It is amazing how this little trick works. Give it a try. I use lots of different creams and lotions but currently I am enjoying CND Cucumber healing cream ($10 amazon).  Aveda Foot Relief is awesome for an extra special treatment. ($24 Nordstrom)

I hope you will give a night bag a try. Taking a few extra minutes to pamper yourself is great for promoting extra sleep and less stress. Leave me a comment about what you would put in your night bag that isn't mentioned. I look forward to hearing from you.

Also be on the look out for Friday’s blog. A new recipe that you and your family are going to love!
